FORT HEART/ FOR THE ART

I love things that know their own name. Like Melbourne art-fashion label, Fort Heart, which is for the art (get it?) and fighting the good fight for a cause as noble as it is well named. In fact, the name is the cause, heavy. Fort Heart bridges the gap between unknown artists and commercial fashion while producing wearable and unique pieces.

Photographer, designer, artist, curator, patron, founder and all round G.C James Jourdan Heenan combines the right kind of art with the manufacturing elbow grease to create accessible art-fashion sans ego.

James’ own slide necklace collection blends photography into jewellery and captures the spirit and philosophy behind promoting the requisite blend of art-fashion that defines the label. Oh, and they’re really fucking cool. Fort Heart products are available online at www.Fortheart.com.au

Ruined T-Shirts = Instant Sexy

Wildfox Couture have ditched the bubblegum Barbie look featured in their SS/10 collection and gone a little geek chic with their latest offering, complete with step by step pics showing how to ruin a brand new T.
The LA label touting it's "vintage inspired knitwear" range has driven it's new aesthetic towards monochrome tones and sharper silhouettes, which is seen as a welcome return to form for the fledgling brand and the label looks set to build on its already cult-ish trendster following.
The baggy and disheveled hotness of off the shoulder slouchy sweaters, teamed with frill hemmed jean shorts, peace sign prints and playful, contradictory catchphrases seems to still remain cohesive enough and make this collection one to keep an eye out for on its coming release.

Soon to be spotted on "It" girls everywhere leaving warehouse parties at 4am (sunnies on of course)..
